Artwork Requirements for Direct Mousepads

Here at Direct Mousepads , we understand the importance of your logo/art. Adhering to the following instructions will maximize the quality of your print. It also will decrease the time you have to wait for your product. PLEASE, if you have any questions call us. We will be happy to clarify any concerns you may have.

Software: We can accept files created with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

File Formats: An editable version of all files is required. Art submitted must include all linked images - DO NOT EMBED images into files. Embedding an image makes it uneditable. If your image includes text, all Fonts used must be included with the art or you can convert the text to paths.

Fonts: All fonts must be Mac compatible. Because addresses, phone numbers, and web sites change over the years, we recommend that all text remain editable. By converting your fonts to paths, you in turn make your text uneditable. Therefore, we recommend that you leave your text editable and include both the screen and printer fonts. All fonts must be at a minimum of 10 pts for sublimation. If text is reversed out then a minimum of 14 pts.

Colors: If you are intending the art to be printed with Pantone colors, create your art in spot colors. CMYK is used for the 4 color process. Colors defined as RGB are monitor colors. (RGB is not a process used for output). Please either convert your RGB to CMYK or spot colors.

Resolution: Art for Sublimation must be submitted at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. This includes all imported and linked images. The image must also be to size or larger at the given resolutions. Enlarging the image results in degradation of the image. Pictures taken from the Internet are usually 72 DPI. Well below our 300 dpi minimum and are not acceptable for quality mousepads.

Lines: Lines must be at a minimum of 1 pt. Lines reversed out must be at least a 2 pt.

Photo ready art doesn’t have:

Halftones/tints
Color
Wrinkles
Creases
Writing

Hard Copies: When submitting art for sublimation, include a complete hard copy of the art. Because printers convert colors different, a hard copy from a calibrated printer is required if we must match a color.

Media: We can accept art on 3.5” floppy disk, 100 Meg Zip, 1 Gig Jaz, CD. Digital art can be e-mailed to art@imageproducts.us. Please be descriptive in the subject header and call us to let us know your art has been sent. If the file is too big (greater than 2 MB) to e-mail, call for instructions for our FTP site.

Art size: A 1/8” bleed is required for sublimation and hard surface pads.

All mousepad pricing includes all setups and one preproduction proof.

If a second preproduction proof is required because of a mistake on our part, we will supply it for free. If changes are needed for any other reason, there will be a $150 charge to have the changes made.

All orders are shipped F.O.B. from our factory. We ship via Fedex or Motor Cargo. On smaller orders we can usually ship Fedex Saver for less than UPS Ground and we pass that savings along to you. We will gladly give you a freight quote on any order. All shipping must be prepaid or be shipped freight collect.

We can accept orders over the phone, email, or fax. An order acknowledgment and paper proof of your artwork will be sent to you with all details of your order which you will need to sign and fax back before production will begin. Once your paper proof is approved we will produce the actual preproduction or match proof for you to approve. Understand that our turnaround time is dependent on when the preproduction and paper proofs are approved by you.

Production Time: Approx. 10 days from approval of proofs. If you need an exact in-hands date please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Payment Terms: Because of our very small margins we require that all custom mouse pad orders are prepaid. We gladly accept your company check or credit card as payment.

Mousepad Hint:
If a color match is absolutely essential consider a Hard Surface Mouse Pad. Because of the nature of Sublimation, an exact color match can be very difficult to achieve. A Hard Surface Mousepad can also be easier to keep clean.
